Foam Head Traverse For Metering, Mixing & Dispensing Head

The Traverse holds and propels the metering, mixing and dispensing head. The Traverse straddles the laydown area and reciprocates the mixing head laterally across. The combination of the lateral motion along with the movement of the substrates creates a zigzag laydown pattern.

The mixing and dispensing head is mounted on a vertically adjustable traverse, which uses electric motors to turn screws for adjustment. The lateral movement achieves a uniform laydown of chemicals by means of a servo-driven timing belt. The horizontal speed of the mixing head is easily adjusted for formulation changes or variations of pressure conveyor speed. The Traverse straddles the laydown area and reciprocates the mixing head laterally across.

The Traverse is built into a separate steel framework within the confines of the laydown area. The stroke of the Traverse mechanism varies from 30" to 48" about the centerline of the system and is controlled by independently adjustable limit switches. Furthermore, upon command, the mounted head will travel to the "home" position on the operator's side where the mixing chamber and dispensing head can be flushed. The chemical hoses traveling to the mixing head are usually confined in a hose carrier.
