Quick Find: Kornylak Makes Machines That Manufacture Foam Core Building PanelsSIPs At A Glance
Kornylak manufactures machines for the production of Structural Insulated Panels (SIPs). SIPs are prefabricated insulated structural elements designed for use in the building of walls, ceilings, floors and roofs. They replace conventional stick frame or stud type construction. The panels are manufactured in a factory and shipped to job sites, where they are joined together to erect a building. The SIPs manufacturing industry has greatly expanded in recent years in response to increasing demand from builders for labor, material, and energy saving products. The Structural Panels are also called foam-core panels, structural foam panels, sandwich panels, or stress-skin panels. A structural building panel consists of a solid foam core 4 to 8 inches thick laminated to some type of structural facing or sheathing on each side creating an engineered sandwich. SIPs are produced in various sizes and have a high strength-to-weight ratio with a high R-value. The types of rigid insulation used as the core for the SIP are: expanded polystyrene (EPS), polyurethane, isocyanurate, and phenolic. For manufacturing EPS products see our Block Mold product. For products using polyurethane, isocyanurate, and phenolic see our Building Panel or Process Tunnel lines. Suggestions to improve our website: Survey |
